Opportunity

For nearly four decades, Horgans has been a trusted name in Australian interiors, supplying furniture to retailers, interior designers and trade professionals. While their strength had always been in B2B, the pandemic accelerated the need for digital evolution across the business. Expanding into direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales became a clear opportunity to grow brand reach while continuing to serve their longstanding trade customers.

The challenge was not just about launching a new eCommerce store. It was about aligning systems, customer experience and brand presentation across both channels, without compromising the trust and service Horgans is known for.

Outcome

We helped Horgans re-platform and restructure their digital presence, launching two distinct Shopify storefronts to support both B2B and D2C audiences. The D2C store offers a rich, intuitive shopping experience that brings their curated collections to life for everyday customers. The trade store supports designers and retailers with tailored functionality and workflows.

The project spanned more than three years and included systems integration, UX and UI design, and ongoing performance improvements. Today, Horgans has a unified digital foundation that supports all sides of the business, strengthens brand and sets them for scalable growth.

Art direction focused on slow, ambient video loops that highlight materiality, movement and space. The videos were chosen to complement the tone of the brand and elevate the overall sensory experience.

Horgans began as a family story. And even as they've grown, the've maintained a family feel. Open arms and open doors.

Marion and Patrick Horgan launched Horgans forty years ago as an independent homewares wholesaler in the historic woolsheds of Ultimo. At that time, most manufacturers were not open to making deals with women, and Marion found that most doors she knocked on remained closed.

However, through her perseverance, she formed significant trade partnerships with key international suppliers, and Horgans became known for bringing the latest style from far and wide to Australia.
