Opportunity
M.J. Suttie Architects needed a considered refresh of their Squarespace site to better reflect the practice’s calm, classical point of view and the depth of services across architecture, interior, landscape and urban design. The opportunity was to bring greater clarity to the content and structure, so visitors can quickly understand the studio’s philosophy, approach, and capability.
We focused on improving navigation, tightening page hierarchy, and presenting projects in a more editorial, image-led way that supports the practice’s emphasis on durability, beauty, and craft. The aim was a site that feels timeless and disciplined, while remaining practical to maintain and update in-house.
Outcome
The updated Squarespace site presents the practice with more confidence and clarity, aligning the digital experience with the studio’s work and values. Streamlined navigation and improved content structure make it easier to explore services, understand the studio’s design principles, and move through projects without distraction.
The result is a refined, long-lasting platform that supports future growth, improves enquiry pathways, and gives M.J. Suttie Architects a stronger online presence that matches the quality of their built work.

MICHAEL SUTTIE
Michael graduated with a degree in Mining Engineering from UNSW after a year working in the mines of outback WA. Soon after, he travelled to Europe and was inspired by the timeless beauty of the built heritage of Western civilisation during his work as a stonemason, carpenter and artisan in the UK, France, Italy, Belgium and Athens. Notably, Michael worked at Fairhaven Stone Ltd in Cambridgeshire, closely associated with Sotheby’s and Kindersley Studio.
Michael eventually returned to Australia after a decade with a Master’s degree in Classical and Traditional Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Notre Dame, IN, and the Notre Dame Study Centre in Rome. Since returning to Australia in 2008, Michael has been working to change the culture of architecture in Australia through his growing practice, M.J Suttie Architects, currently engaged in a wide variety of residential, ecclesiastical, educational and urban planning projects around the country.
All the projects strive to put into practice the classical ideals of architecture to build beautiful, functional and durable places. Alongside passionate clients, and increasingly in the realm of sacred architecture, Michael has realised the potential of inspiration and meaningful design, building with the finest materials and reputable craftsmen.
Michael is the proud father of nine children, all of whom are keen young apprentices in classical architecture and the allied arts.
