Trek Madone SL Livestrong Edition 2005 Road Bike

In celebration of Lance Armstrong’s unprecedented 6th Tour de France victory. Trek Bicycles presents this signed lithograph and Madone SL replica featuring 23 carat gold leaf panels, as ridden by Armstrong on the Champs-Elysees in Paris during the final stage of the 2004 Tour de France, July 25, 2004.

The Limited Edition Livestrong Madone bicycles feature real 23k gold leaf panels on each tube of the frame. Lance Armstrong's signature appears across the top tube under the clearcoat. Yellow highlights and custom graphics adorn the bike and many of the components.

The bike is numbered 224 of 600. Listing also includes a framed signed photo lithograph with authenticity certificate, H.88 x W.88 cm.

This bicycle was produced by hand in Waterloo, WI, using the same molds and techniques as the Madone 6.9 SSL of the same year. The bicycle uses Trek's proprietary OCLV 110 carbon fibre material for very light weight and impressive torsional strength. An aggressive geometry provides nimble handling and lightning-fast pedalling response, especially during uphill, out-of-the-saddle efforts. Up front, a 1-1/8" Cane Creek external-cup headset holds the lightweight Bontrager Race X Lite OCLV 110 carbon fibre fork.

The Madone's cables are all externally routed, allowing easy servicing in the field.

Shimano's 10-speed 7800 Dura Ace components are found throughout the bike, including the dual-control levers, both derailleurs, both multi-pivot brake callipers, and the 12-25T cassette. Long service life and precise operation can be expected for years to come from Shimano's best pro-level components.

A Bontrager crankset with carbon fibre arms, 53/39T chainrings and matching custom graphics is an impressive centerpiece to the Livestrong Madone. Bontrager Race X Lite alloy wheels also feature custom yellow spokes and carbon fibre hubs, and are wrapped with 700x23mm Bontrager tires. A Bontrager carbon fibre seatpost, Bontrager saddle, Race XXX Lite carbon fibre stem and OCLV carbon fibre handlebar also boast custom yellow graphics.

A true collector’s edition - it has never been ridden, only displayed in a showroom or kept in boxed storage.
