With over three decades behind the lens, Jason McCormack has photographed prime ministers and strangers with equal care. His portraits cut through noise. His street and event work reveals the heartbeat of a moment. For years, Jason's name has been a quiet constant in the world of Australian photography.
Now, he finally has a digital space that does justice to that legacy and quietly sets the stage for what's next.
The new site, built on Shopify, is more than a folio. It's a platform. One that presents Jason's body of work in a way that feels considered, elevated, and ready to grow into future directions like offering framed prints, publications, or commissions.
From folio to future-focused
Jason didn’t come to us with a long list of design demands. Instead, he gave us a brief that read more like a mood: clean, direct, quietly powerful. So we got to work building something that felt like a gallery space rather than a typical online portfolio.
Using the Prestige theme as our foundation, we developed a set of bespoke custom sections to make the most of his imagery. Key to this was our custom masonry layout system engineered through Shopify metaobjects, which allowed Jason to curate images dynamically across collections, formats, and subjects.
The result is a portfolio that breathes. One that gives space to Jason’s distinctive categories: Portraits, Editorial, Corporate, Street, and Event work.
Designed for impact
The homepage delivers a jolt of visual immediacy, offering visitors a sense of Jason’s world within seconds. The layout is bold but measured. Navigation is minimal and functional. Every design choice supports the work rather than competes with it.
We collaborated with Jason to refine and reorganise the galleries, ensuring each page felt intentional. Nothing cluttered. Nothing noisy. Just pure, image-led design.
Even on mobile, the experience retains its clarity and depth. Page speed was optimised through image compression and lazy loading, so no matter the device, the site stays fast and focused.
Built to evolve
While the website currently functions as a folio and enquiry portal, the backend is built to scale. Shopify's native commerce features are in place, ready for when Jason launches a shop with selected prints, books or other formats.
In the meantime, potential clients in the corporate, editorial, or event space can reach out through clear, dedicated contact points. The site might not shout about its services, but they’re all there, ready to be engaged with.
A digital space as composed as the work it holds
This site isn't about decoration. It's about integrity creating an environment where images can speak without interference.
For Jason McCormack, photography has always been about capturing truth with clarity. His website now reflects the same.
